I’m returning to Orfeo Music Festival in Italy this July!

With things starting to reopen again, I am glad to let you know that I will return to Orfeo Music Festival in Vipiteno Italy to play some chamber music!

A small German-speaking Italian town in the Alps, Vipiteno captures all the essence of the dreamy mountain hideout villages. The first time I went there in 2019, my schedule was packed that I couldn’t explore much, except a few shots here and there:

Our performance venue was a beautiful church called Chiesa Santo Spirito. One of the craziest things about this church for us musicians, is that resonances can sustain for up to 9 seconds: a blessing and a curse at the same time!

This year in July 2021, we have a mini-size festival in Italy (while the main chapter is in USA) due to travel restrictions for artists and students. We will play two concerts on the 18th and 20th. I would love to see you there if you happen to be near, tickets info can be found here.

You can find the detailed programs below (click on dates). The pieces I will take part in are:

July 18, 2021 20:30 Chiesa Santo Spirito

Reinhold Gliere (1875-1956): Duos for Violin and Cello

Madeleine Mitchell, violin; Alvin Wong, cello

Grazyna Bacewicz (1909-1969): Trio

Stephen Key, oboe; Madeleine Mitchell, violin; Alvin Wong, cello

July 20, 2021 20:30 Vigil Raber Saal

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827): Eyeglass Duo for viola and cello

Ilan Schneider, viola; Alvin Wong, cello

Zoltan Kodaly (1882-1967), Duo for Violin and Cello

Madeleine Mitchell, violin; Alvin Wong, cello

J. S. Bach (1685-1750): Concerto in C Minor, BWV 1060

Look forward to seeing you there!

Alvin
